Seth Godin proclaims that 'marketing is more powerful than ever.'
It's hard to disagree, the Internet has given us free marketing tools, clear communities, and the ability to communicate in real time.
For the first time, we also have raw data that help build our niche. Instead of pushing out an ad and hoping that we get eyeballs, we can target those adds by key terms and guarantee eye balls.
For musicians, a niche is even more powerful. You have contributors spreading the word for you. You have an online street army at your disposal. And all of then want to spread the word and talk to each other.
This all goes back to my belief that besides the biggest copy-paste machine, the Internet is also the biggest sharing platform. Taking it one step further, Seth Godin believes the Internet is the world's biggest radio station. Again, hard to disagree.
