Another roadblock in the quest for music ubiquity is China's massive crackdown on social networking sites.
A lot of the social networking sites in the US and in Europe now include music as a valuable asset to growth. Music is a tool social networks use to keep users entertained on their site.
But a Chinese blockade prevents the free and flowing music industry from blossoming in the world's heaviest Internet using base. This is something the WTO should address as Internet connectivity is vital to global trade.
By blocking the free flowing exchange of ideas and commerce, Chinese officials are keeping its people in the dark.
There's a whole consumer base in China with new money. All that needs to be done is break down the barriers and offer the Chinese the same unfiltered access.
