There are multiple blogs this week (AVC, Paid Content) discussing the fact that 15 year olds only stream music and video content and find Twitter useless.
This is the same group that doesn't have any money nor do they have anything to market. Of course they have no use for downloading to own and using a micro-blogging service.
The teenage market plays online games and talks to each other through safe havens like Facebook.
The way to reach teenagers is through free stuff. The days are over when the teenager asked the parent for the credit card to buy music and videos when the teenager knows sure well that he or she can find that content online for free.
If the future of online content is free access than we need a better way to monetize. Ad-revenue won't bring in the same amount of profit a downloaded track or album will. Each stream is worth a third of a penny.
This is what all major content owners worry about because it's too late to retrain teens to invest in micropayments.
